2. Contact your debtors and see if you can negotiate a lower rate of interest in return for discontinuing use of the card.


3. Some agencies offer debt counseling at no charge. Check with your local social services agencies and other non-profits in the area to see if they can help or provide referrals.

Make the largest payment that you can every month.
You need to pay in large amounts, not the minimum, otherwise you will never be able to catch up. You can also make payments when you have the money, not just when there is a payment date. Maybe, you can use the money from the income tax (if you are getting money back) to put towards paying it off. The sooner you pay it off the better.
