hmmm...

im a great advice-giver.

but sometimes, some things are just, urghhhh.

i usually go something like.

(what you mentioned.)

orr....

';well im not sure what to tell you. you need to think about your options..';How does one listen and not give advice???Do you say later, ';do what you think is best for you';.....what do?
Only give advice when it is asked for. In the case of your own child/teenager go ahead %26amp; give it. It's the only way they learn the correct thing to do.
You should do whatever you think is best.

I hope you find the solution soon

Wow, I can see why you are confused. Hope you sort it out.

You really need to give that some thought.
Sometimes that is the best advice that can be given. After all, the other person cannot honestly know what is best for you. The only thing they can do is to tell you what they would do in your circumstance. When Jesus forgave the prostitute, the only advice he gave her was to ';go and sin no more.'; I would be suspicious of anyone who gave advice based on an emotional plea. Mostly, I told my kids to sleep on it and we'd talk again the next day. Very often, after thinking on it for a while, they would come up with their own solutions.
You just need to be there, listen and tell them that it's their decision.
