Are you agree? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?

I learned from HR courses that most people over present themselves on their resume.

For example, my friend got fired because he always went to work late. However, he addresses on his resume---he has strong work ethics. Are you agree? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
Maybe this is why I'm not getting calls; I don't overstate.

I thinks it's a mistake. If you say you've done something you haven't, or have some ability you don't, then you're going to be in deep doo-doo when you're expected to be able to do it on the job.

It's not just about getting an interview, it's about getting and keeping the job.

But I guess I'm in the minority. Are you agree? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
Just be honest I do agree most people over due it a bit but with the job market out there it's pure survival the one with the ';best '; resume gets the job
I'm not sure inflate is the right word for everybody, maybe a better term would be to accentuate the good and downplay or not even mention the not so good. After all a resume is intended to get you an interview so it has to be concise and positive. Your HR courses are hopefully telling you to read between the lines a little and pick out things which are either to much information or blatantly overstated. As to your friend I hope he doesn't apply for a job with your company or you will have a tough time telling him why he was rejected.
true
I would say with question that most if not all inflate their resumes
