Be sure to book in advance. Some towns will be more popluar than others and will be booked up months in advance. Also, expect some areas to be more expensive than others (for instance: whangamata and paihia are uber popular).

It doesn't hurt to ask around. One of your family/friends/colleauges might even own one that you can borrow or rent.
