Have you ever benefitted by the advice of a stranger?

Do you consider any or all advice from such sources?Have you ever benefitted by the advice of a stranger?
only the advice that strikes a cord in me, which is rare but cherishedHave you ever benefitted by the advice of a stranger?
just some, I'll never forget it...a stranger advised me to leave the gun and take the cannoli, and it turned out he was right...changed my life it did
Absolutely, since they don't know you and aren't afraid of hurting you, they give it straight. Sometimes bad, but straight!
Of course,. Strangers are impartial and bias so their advice is sometimes the best
My grandmother taught me to take peoples advice but keep only what I need from it. You have some good Q?'s.
Yep. One time a 6'4'; guy advised me to keep my mouth shut. I'm SURE it was to my benefit that I did.

Can you give me some hair advice?

I'm African-American, %26amp; my hair is very thick, wavy, kinky, curly, %26amp; bushy, all at the same time. People say I have a nice grade of hair. It's long enough to be put into a ponytail. Problem: the hair is very stubborn. It won't lay down, even when I put gel in it. I have very sensitive scalp %26amp; seborrhea, so I can't get relaxers. I have to let it stay natural.

I have an interview tomorrow. Any ideas on how to make it look presentable? Can you give me some hair advice?
First buy John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum from Albertsons or Rite Aid and apply to hair. The more hair, the more you apply. Also, since you have thick hair, you could always put your hair in a bun and put 2 chopsticks on either side of them. It would be presentable enough and cute at the same time. Good Luck at your interview! Can you give me some hair advice?
Use gel and wax.U don't have no time. Those things are only things u can do because ur interview is tomorrow.
cornroll it
Try warm water, brush it out, then put the gel on.
im half black and hav thick curly hair. i use the garnier fructis line it'll make your hair look great. use the Curl and Shine products along with the curl construct mousse and curl shaping spray gel.

you'll get lots of compliments. ooh and try half up half down.

If you could go back and meet yourself when you were much younger, what advice would you give yourself?

Mine would be: ';become a scientist of some kind so you don't have to spend all your time reading books.';If you could go back and meet yourself when you were much younger, what advice would you give yourself?
Buy California Bay Area real estate and stocks!!! Oh and don't sweat the girlies... They'll come... (I was really short in high school and had a ';spurt';... LOL)

Good stuff...!

sb1If you could go back and meet yourself when you were much younger, what advice would you give yourself?
my advice to myself would be don't fall for all the flattery ,because it doesn't last for long
';Don't try LSD... it's too expensive and it's really not worth the night you'll spend in an alley 2 miles from your apartment, too high to realize it was snowing.';
Do what makes you truly happy

and

treat other people the way you would have them treat you.
Don't take high-school so serious

Take more risks,

Have a lot more sex at a younger age and a lot of it (But remember protection)

also, nice guys finish last and women love it when you treat em like crap (took me way too long to realize that)
Men will tell you anything to get in your pants. If it is too good to be true, it probably is.
Interesting question.

The one advice I'd give would be ';Stop trying so hard to please other people and to be what they expect you to be.';

Interestingly, it's the same advice I'd still give myself today, if only I would listen..
Advise yourself to avoid crazy matters. Do not lost any percent of your mind.

jtm
Don't allow compassion or love or pride bind you in a relationship to someone who has already exhibited their selfish nature by the lack of care for you and by their manipulation of your feelings for their gain. Admitt to yourself you picked a loser, a weirdo, whatever, Call them as you see them and move on.
Good opportunity knocks at the door only but once. I must not leave it behind me. I have to go for it with you.
i'd tell myself to start going after girls earlier. i was pretty shy for a while but once i broke out of it i had all sorts of fun with the girls.
Don't be such an arrogant know-it-all jerk (but would he listen?--no).

Do you know which book of Neal Boortz has advice about what to do with your money?

Not sure this is the one you mean but I think so

What advice would you give someone that has just turned 18?

I just turned 18 and I feel a little lost at times. I don't know what do with my life and feel like im not in the place I want to be. So what should I do when im at this pont in my life where I still feel like a girl but now that I am 18 I am forced to act like a woman? What advice would you give someone that has just turned 18?
being 18 is hard u have alot of choices to make! dont worry though find a career go to college and find a job!....u can still have fun when u have time off but u gotta learn first comes work then play!!! be resposible but at the same time let loose and have fun! What advice would you give someone that has just turned 18?
Go to school now don't put it off. It sucks even more starting classes at 20 and not being able to remember anything from high school. Don't act grown up enjoy the time you have now to have fun and be young. Don't move out on your own and if you move out have lots of roomates.
You are going to have to figure out what it is that you want to be doing with your life. If you can't figure it out. Try doing different things until you find something that you like.
First of all... you don't have to act like anything...Just be yourself...and by the way you are still just a little girl just in a bigger body, when i was eighteen Man I thought I knew everything, I was wrong! wisdom comes with age and time so don't push yourself so hard because before ya know it your getting older and finding yourself writting these things. I was a wild child and now I teach my daughter (she's 11 now) to do the right thing and to be herself above all! your probably just having a bad day it will get better. Just look at one day at a time, don't live for the future live for today.. It will all come when the time is right. Trust Me..sunnydays
there are times when you can joke around and have fun like a young girl, but you will know when you need to serious and mature and act like a woman. don't sweat over it!
You know what, so many people feel that way when they turn 18. It seems like you are supposed to be a woman, but in all actuality, people will still think of you as a young person. Take it easy. Don't rush around trying to figure out your life plan. It will work itself out. You have time to think about it. What are you interests, hobbies? What makes you happy? Don't freak out. Things happen for a reason. Good Luck!
Go out and lkive a good life but do go out actin a fool just have fun cuz oyu're not getting any younger
watch your credit..

just because you can go get credit more easier.. i'd be careful...

i got carried away with mine and my credit rating has suffered..

as well as my bf and a few of our friends would probably recommend the same thing..

credit.. life is all about it.. so make sure you take it seriously
live ur life and do what makes u happy, no matter what it is.......life is too short!
just relax, it will all come to you and one day day you will see that the best things you did were ones that you waited on, don't rush anything

:+)
Stay truth to yourself. Follow your heart not your gut. Educate yourself so you never have to depend of a man. Be wise and selective you have that right. It would show that you are mature and worth of respect. Good luck!
You are still a girl in woman's form. Keep your values that you have learned.
It's a hard time and I understand that. I was feeling pretty much the same at your age.

Try to relax about it. Talk to friends and family about what they might think a good carrier for you could be, in case you don't know even remotely what you want to do.

If you feel you want to move, do it but never burn any bridges

Eventually you will get a job and always have in mind that you need to save some money, even if its 5 buck a month. When I started doing this, and had some good money from my work, In 2 years i had the money to feel safe to open my own business.

And a tip. You will always feel lost at some points, that never goes away but you have to keep it together
How about do some real soul searching regarding goals? Turning 18 doesn't automatically make you a responsible adult. Look at it as kindegarten for women. You have the opportunity of a whole lifetime before you. What do you want to accomplish in 10 years; 5 years; 3 years, one year? Write it down. Where do you want to go? Make a list. I would also suggest you read your list of goals and then consider doing volunteer work based on the category. For instance, if you want to be a doctor, go work as a volunteer with people at the hospital. If you want to be a policewoman, there are auxillaries for young people. If you want to work with children, volunteer to read to terminally sick kids. This way, no only do you give of yourself, you receive respect, learn new things, are exposed to different people and you ';network';. Networking is very important. You might meet someone who has a friend, of a friend, of a friend, who can help you achieve you goals. Lastly, go out and have good, safe FUN!!! Please don't get married or have babies or shack up with anywone. FUN!! Take some ballroom dancing lessons; learn to love yourself. When I turned 18, I went and got my hair cut short to move into adulthood and not look like a highschool kid. I went to art museums and took classes. I saved and bought a car. You can do anything you want to do!!! If you can't decide, see a counselor at a local college and they can test you on what you would be a good career for you. Godloveyou....you're gonna do just fine, honey!
here advise dont go with men who u treat u badly
I also just turned 18 and just got my first full time job and with responsibility comes fun, go to college get your general done and take classes in things that interest you that way you can hopefully find something you want to work in for your career, use your friends as a way to stay young
The way you feel is normal. It is a big transition from minor to adult. Keep in mind that life is a journey. You are not suppose to have all the answers right away. Life is about the experience of self discovery that happens over a life time. Try to do things you enjoy and work in a field you like. Learn as much as you can and experience everything. Don't trust everyone you meet and when you do feel you can trust someone it is okay to let them in. You won't escape pain, it is a part of life. As love is.
Do anything and everything you can. The world is your oyster. Travel abroad.

Get your education. If you don't feel like you can finish school at least get an associates. It will help you down the line when you're look for work and want to get paid.

Don't rush into having children. They're wonderful to have, but take this time for yourself.

Don't get in over neck with useless debt either. New clothes and a fine car will come with age.

Just be happy and true to yourself.
I really remember feeling that way and I still do at times, and I am 31.

Don't feel like you NEED a man to feel complete

Don't feel like you NEED to get married anytime soon.

Don't let others walk all over you, stand up for yourself.

Love yourself for who you are and don't criticize yourself all the time.

Smile as much as you can and walk with your chin up, looking the world in the face.

Attend a few classes at your local community college, take classes that interest you. Maybe you will find some direction you'd like to head towards.

I wish that someone would have told me those things when I turned 18.
Right now you are borderline. Take your time and enjoy yourself.

Get started on those college applications.

Constantly updated fantasy feeds from sources all over the Web.
This is a great site, so thanks for sharing! I also subscribe to Footballguys.com which doesn't have an RSS feed that I know of but I love their Draft Dominator tool and their email updates are great.

Other sites that I use that DO have RSS feeds include Rotowire.com, fftoolbox.com, CBS Sportsline. ESPN also has RSS feed but I don't always trust their breaking news. :)

Good luck this season!
