When ';life gives you lemons';, why is the advice always to ';make lemonaid';?

Why not embrace the ';lemons'; for what they are? When ';life gives you lemons';, why is the advice always to ';make lemonaid';?
Well, I think you said the same thing just in your words. The expression means, accept the lemons and make the most of them rather than living in regret you did not get ';oranges';.

GBYWhen ';life gives you lemons';, why is the advice always to ';make lemonaid';?
I guess the ideal is to take something sour and make it sweet and refreshing.

though I wonder if life gives me lemons why can't I make a lemon meringue pie instead
Work with what you have. Find a useful thing in a moment of misery.
not a whole lot you can do with lemons...help with lemonsLEMON-AID
It means if something in your life is sour, turn it into something good. I like to say when I have a dilemma I'll make dilemmanaide. J/k
because limeaide would be impossible to make
Easiest reason- Do what you can with what you get..

And usually you have to do something with what you get, in order to turn it into something, because you don't just get ';SOMETHING';.
Psssssh..

When Life gives you lemons you throw the lemons right back at him.
You have to make something sweet out of something that is sour. Or, learn from the sour taste and move on.
I guess the message is to try to find the silver lining in every cloud. Some clouds just don't seem to have a silver lining and are simply dark and dismal all the way through, and then we just have to cope with it.
its saying to make the best out of your situation. dont be mad that all you have is lemons, make something out of them, its better than nothing.
I don't know. Personally, I'd rather throw 'em at the people who gave them to me! [LOL]
It is a saying. It is trying to get you to understand that sometimes you don't get what you want, so make the best of what you do get. Enjoy.
Well to simplify for you: lemons are considered bitter and hence unpleasant and lemonade sweet and hence more pleasant.

So the analogy is: When life deals out unplesantness try to change it into something pleasant.

If you wish to go around embracing unpleasantness then by all means. But if you really mean embrace actual lemons then are you a deviate or something??? But once again do what rings your bells.

Got it!
Squeeze them into someone's eyes
LOL Just a saying
When you feel life has dealt you a poor hand ( a lemon..bitter)and these things are out of your control ...one can sit and mope /cry /wail....feel sorry for yourself ..and so on ....or one can make the best of the situation and turn what was a bad situation into something of value to ones self ....actually end up being of value....in doing this one regains control of ones life .....
Because it's a sweet nectar like treat, it's cool and refreshing. Everybody wants that over a sour lemon. If you like lemons over lemonade the saying would be '; When life gives you lemonade find a way to remove the water and the sugar, collect all the pulp and put it back in the peel in the best way possible to make it just a lemon again. When you find that this is nearly impossible to do, apply for a grant and hire a team of scientist to do it for you.'; Now that just sounds silly. I guess you could just say '; When life gives you lemons just accept and embrace it'; which means take it in stride which means do what you can with it but don't let it stop you so I guess the saying already means to embrace the lemons for what they are. As long as you have lemons you will have lemonade. You don't have to make lemonade but the point is don't let the lemons get you down just take them for what they are. Lemons which could be part of a juice beverage if you chose.
hmmm i once had a buddy icon that said if life gives ya lemons stuff them down ur shirt...

and when i was like 11 i had one that said if life gives u lemons throw them at boys.... ( when i hated boys

lol
';You too have the power to change the sour and unpalatable into sweet nectary goodness';... was too pompous sounding. Lemon pie was ruled out as too labour intensive, and too calorie laden.

And you said it, really: Understand the lemons for their nature, and make your choices from there!
When someone gives you a gift that you don't like, squeeze the crap out of it right in front of their face.
it means you make with what you get
