';Home is wear you hang your hat.'; 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?

What does this mean? Do you agree with this?

Thank you';Home is wear you hang your hat.'; 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
It means Home is where your heart is ! Yes,I agree.Where ever we go,to which ever place we travel to ,we ultimately return home to hang our hats(maybe this idiom was started in days when hats were worn)';Home is wear you hang your hat.'; 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
This was an old saying when men wore hats and would come home and hang them up on a rack.

I agree with this statement to some extent but not totally.

Home to me is more then a place to hang your hat, but a place with the warmth and love of a family. Without the love of a family then all you have is a place to eat, sleep and survive. It would be a home but without the feelings of one.
You know how in the hot weather people are always out and stuff and they wear hats, but they cant leave it anywhere and home is a place where u are comfortable and can place it down!
In past times, it was custom for travellers to wear hats on the road.

I'm guessing that this phrase comes from the travellers only taking off their hats when they were safely back home.
I think it means that we should all avoid cliches. Particularly the ones ( and this means all of them) that are probably taken out of context anyhow.

For every cliche there is an equal and opposite cliche.

A mans home is his castle, but home is where you hang your hat.
I have read that expression a few times but only heard it once in regular conversation.

I asked for the meaning of the cliche and the guys said they have heard the expression on the old cowboy movies.

It means home. It can be any place but for now it was the cowboys home.
“Home is where you hang your hat” refers to the psychological ability of a person to reside anywhere. I imagine the expression found its origin during the time when men moved frequently from one place to another.
im thinking it means something like a home is mainly where everyone expresses themselves freely and to hang your hat is their taking off their outside life ..

yea i agree with it
I get put off when people dangle ';ten points'; like a carrot in front of a donkey - just ask your question like anybody else.
A hat (like most articles of clothing) is considered a facade...we cover ourselves, thus hiding our true natures. Hanging it at home, we divest ourselves of that facade...hence, we are at 'home'; with our own, family or the like.
There's no place like it. You feel more confident and at peace in your home than any other place.
It means that where ever I go in this world I am home. If you call one structure home, you get attached to it.

I am not attached to where I live so ';where I hang my hat is home.';

When I find my home I will know it and never leave. Until then?
Home is WHERE you hang your hat...My best advice is take some basic english lessons...I'll just take the two points...Peace out.
A bit like Adam saying:

';Where ever Eve was, there was Eden';

Home is where you take off your coat, and kick off your shoes.

Home is where you hang your hat.

It means Home is not a specific place,

it is YOU who makes a place... Home.
