DO you ever not follow your own advice?

I am struggling to start my book and I just reread my answers to people's questions ';How can I start my book?'; I got best answer for so many of them - so why can't I practice what I preach???

So here I go being a hypocrite...how do I start my book? I know what it's about, the characters, what I want the basis of it to be, but I don't know what happens to lead to the ending I have in mind!DO you ever not follow your own advice?
I told my self not to answer this but here I am.DO you ever not follow your own advice?
Just start writing, that's all you can do. Write the first scene that comes to your mind when you think of your story, and just start typing. After you finish(can't think of anything more to write), than you should go back, reread, and edit it. This probably won't even be what you use for the start of your story, but it's at least a start. Just keep reworking it until your happy with it and than move on to another scene.
How about writing an outline? You basically brainstorm ideas and write out the things that happen in the book, but in a condensed form. That way, you know the basic';outline'; of what's going to happen and you add more details to them when you are writing your book.

Get all your ideas down on paper and it will just come to you. Good luck!
Just do it.

You are just hedging because someone told you to get a real job or they just don't offer the support you need or won't back you 100%. No one took my writing seriously until I published. (It was nothing big, but made an impact)

If you work at home, allow no interruptions. Let everyone know when you are working and not to disturb you. Take yourself seriously as well and just do it!!!
I personally try to fallow my own advice. But alot of the time, I end out doing the oposite of what I know is right.

I see it as, everyone is human, everyone makes mistakes %26amp; regrets are just the mistakes that you havnt learned from yet.
The beginning of any story or paper is hard to write. Try reading the first few pages of several books and see if any of those beginnings spark an idea for the beginning of your book.
There's an old saying: ';Take my advice...I'm not using it.';

As for getting to the ending...just write. It will unfold just like any other good story between friends. You might enjoy discovering the ending as much as you hope we will enjoy reading your discovery.
sometimes people can give advice but it's too hard for them to follow themselves.
Yes and it always backfires.....
Its the whole ';Do as I say, not as I do'; mentality. We are guilty of it at one time or another.
