Anyways, I know you have probably heard this from everyone but to make new friends GET INVOLVED! I can't stress this enough! This will help you make friends with people of all different cliques, which will give you tons of friends! For classes, just relax, they are not as hard as they seem. I am not going to lie that it may be tough the first couple of weeks, but you get used to it. Do your work and do it well. There is nothing that a high school teacher likes worse than a slacker. Try your best and if you still aren't doing well, ask for help. Your teacher will probably think you are responsible and serious about school if you ask. Participate in class, don't be afraid. You will learn more and listen and focus more if you just participate. School will be much easier. Go to dances, go on dates, get in trouble!(but not too much! ;]) These are the years of your lives that its ok to mess up. Just make sure that you make wise decisions. Stay in school, don't do drugs, don't drink, and live your life. If you don't take risks now, you will regret it when you get older. Hope you have the time of your life and good luck! %26lt;3

I'm an Army veteran, but I've always admired female Marines for their strength. My only advice would be, when you go to bootcamp, don't give up. There will be screaming, and insanity, but they're actually there to help you. Don't take anything personally. Drill Sergeants are people to at the end of the day. They're not evil beings put on earth to torture you, although you will feel that way. Just remember that no other experience in the military (except maybe Iraq) is as intense or nerve wracking as bootcamp. So, just focus on making it through and ';DON'T QUIT';. Good luck.

And start spelling Marine with a capital 'M'.

If you know what an optical assistant does (I don't!), then look at what you have done in the past and highlight those skills. Presumably it involves dealing with the public. Have you worked in a shop or office? Has your previous work meant that you have had to reach deadlines, be precise, check stock etc. Try to find the linking things from what you have done in the past to what will be useful for the job you want.
If you know what an optical assistant does (I don't!), then look at what you have done in the past and highlight those skills. Presumably it involves dealing with the public. Have you worked in a shop or office? Has your previous work meant that you have had to reach deadlines, be precise, check stock etc. Try to find the linking things from what you have done in the past to what will be useful for the job you want.

There's something wierd about a 9yr old knowing about such grown-up things. It makes me wonder what he's seen and heard. If my 8yr old started giving me advice on sex, love and relationships, I'd be very concerned. And if adults have to seek advice on relationships from a 9yr old , then thats just sad and a bit pathetic. It speaks volumes about that person and their ability to make choices and judgements in their own life.

Your total calories for the week must not exceed, 1500 x 7 = 10,500 calories this will give you leave way to indulge at special occasions like wedding and parties, but you must write down what you eat and account for the calories latter and adjust the total intake next week.

While at it build your body too, while reducing by doing body parts specific exercises.
If you are not too old, then best way to reduce your weight is to increase your height.
Vegetarians have a big advantage, in loosing weight, it cost less and they can satisfy the hunger more easily, some vegetables have only 1 calorie per pound, so they can fill themselves up with it before enjoying each meal, and never go hungry.
Most people should take one a day water soluble multi-vitamins when on this program; they can be purchased at the pharmacy near you.

You need to adjust the seat so that when you paddle from seating position you will actually stretch your legs, it is a difficult position but doable. For safety you need to be on track and not in traffic, safety first.
The FEW things I did at least helped me.
Swimming.
Not just playing in water, but serious laps type swimming, do not try to beat the clock but steady full strokes swimming. Remember slow and steady wins the race.
Stretching exercises on floor.
Find them on line.
Chin ups.
Full stretch type.
Swinging from a rope.
Full stretch climbing.
In other words do things that require stretching.

Ok, this will sound like a cliche, so try not to let it pass by you unheard. Try to live in the moment. I know, it's said so often, but seriously. I'm 26, one night I couldn't sleep, so I decided to think instead. Actually, that's almost every night for me : ) Anyways, I decided I was going to review every single memory I had, from birth to the present. It took me 4 hours, and I only got a few years into my life. It's amazing how little we remember. If we forget, then it's like those parts of our lives never happened. But here's what I'm trying to say: I realized that for a good part of my life I was extremely detached from my present (and for good reason actually, the present was often painful). But still, It's important to not spend years of your life living inside of your head, or living in fantasy worlds like video games and fiction books (even though they probably have a place). Just don't throw your years away by not even being in them. Your body can pass through years, but if your mind isn't there, if you're living in the future or past or some dreamworld, then you're not even living. At first I wanted to have black linens (table cloths and napkins) with white plates and a tall, single flower, pink centrepiece with rose petals and shiny fake diamond-like things on the tables. The head table, guest book area and cake table will all be white with white lights.

Remember this industry has CHANGED so much. I started modeling when I was 11. By 15 I was in Milan and NYC on a regular basis. In the last 2 years I have began to get out of the industry. It is over saturated and every girl out there is trying to be a model and every ';agent'; out there is swearing they are the ones to make you famous! If you really want success in this industry, fame should be the last thing on your mind and work should be the first. If its fame you want then you will sacrifice so much trying to get it and you will end up nowhere. If you heard my name, you may not know me but if you saw my work, you would know me. I have worked steadily for 12 years and I have made a name for myself in the industry and made a nice bank account for myself. I am not happy about the direction the industry has gone and while I have plenty more opportunity to work, I just don't want to. I am married now and moving on to new things. So, I guess my best advice is just to make sure its really what you want. It is not all glam and glitz, it is hard work and can be very lonely at times.

Try to get a friend to go with you.
Take the subway to get to all of the places you need to go, so bring extra money.
Get there bright and early, to beat all of the other tourists coming.
All of the things you mentioned can't be done in one day. When I visit NYC I spend a couple of nights in a hotel, because going to any one of those places can take a whole day, because they are very time consuming. About a year ago my gf lost her mother. She had a horrible relationship with her, but not until after her death, it really affected her.
Now sometimes she goes in these moods, where she won't talk anyone. Its been 3 days and I have called numerous times and she wont answer me or anything.

It is not a hard class if you don't procrastinate. Read the chapters section by section and review every night for at least half an hour, that way the night before the test you wont have to study so much. If you know the material well you will find it is easy to get an A. If you are using the the book American Pageant (the most common AP US history book) you can find a couple websites on line with good notes about each chapter.Has anybody ever had AP US History? Do you have any advice? What was it like for you?

It may seem like it is a sh*tty way to be, but here's what you have to understand: It isn't about you - it's about how your company will reflect on THEM. Which just means that they aren't really so certain about their own 'cool' status. These people (and it's something we all do to an extent) put a lot of value on appearances. You can have them as buddies, but it's probably not a good idea to have them as 'friends', as they would be prone to bail on you in your times of need - not nastily, though, they just want to protect their own image, which is what most of their friendships are based on.
Like i said - have her as a buddy if you want to, and climb the cool ladder yourself, but be wary about considering her a true friend.

Im a little younger than you might imagine. Ok so the problem is...well i don't know how to dance((especially with the opposite sex(lol i know)) But anyway our school is having a dance and me and this girl that i really really like asked me to go to the dance with her. I am looking to plan a trip to Egypt for anywhere from 8-15 days within the next 2 years. I know I want to spend time in Cairo and take some sort of Nile river cruise. I have been told that I should definitely see Luxor and Elephantine Island. I've looked at Globus Tours, Trafalgar Tours, and VacationSafaris amoung a few. Cairo for at least three days , Abu Simbel (1 day) , Back to Aswan for a cruise to Luxor (4 days) then you can fly To Sharm where you can enjoy the beach
Here are some extra ordinary trips in Egypt i used to prepare for people who are interested in Desert :
- Siwa Oasis : (800KM from Cairo ) 4 days / 3 nights with one night camping in the desert having your dinner (BBQ) under the stars
- Cairo - Luxor 5 dyas / 4 nights tour through the desert (Instaead of flying/train) visiting three oasises in a 4x4 Jeeb enjoying the premitive scenes , swimming in the hot springs , ...
But those thrips need more time in Egypt
Maybe next time ... you cannot make it all in one trip :))

Stay away from the Papyrus Museums - the Egytian term for tourist ripoff place - but they all take you there.
After a couple of temples - things begin to become redundant. Tour the Pyramids, Valley of the Kings, and Luxor.
The cruise is rather boring - just take a bus and go to the main places.
I did 3 cruises with Thomas Cook, all wonderful. We had our own Egyptologist %26amp; tour guides, %26amp; they looked after us %26amp; educated us well. Its not the cheapest option, but from my experience its the best.
We did 3 days in Cairo, flew down to .....Abu Simbel, back to Aswan, %26amp; then cruised up to Luxor %26amp; spent the week there. It took in most of the important sights, %26amp; the Thomas Cook staff couldn't do enough for us.

That is pretty silly isn't it. I mean...I am not her...I am me!'; Then ask her...';do you ever find yourself following the crowd to be cool?';
You have to turn your back to the crowd to lead the orchestra!!
You could just be very harsh with her and tell her that unintelligent people use profanity because they don't have the brains to think of different words. Or you could just set the example and used elevated diction and make sure she pays attention. If her friends are using bad words then she probably wants to as well...
but I think we all go through this kind of phase. I know I used a lot of swear words when I was in jr. high because everyone did, but by high school I toned it down because all the stupid kids used words like that and all the smart ones actually made decent arguements about things they disagreed it. She will probably get over if with age.

I have recently changed jobs but am not happy at all in my new on so want to start looking for something else. I was in my previous job for 2 1/2 years and gained a lot of experience which is on my CV. i studied abroad for a summer for a leadership program...i think that counts.well anyway i studied in london,france,peru,argentina brazil,uganda,and a little bit in canada.it was such an experience...and i learned at least part of 4 new languages.i got a closer look as to what other peoples cultures are,how similar and different we are.how they learn compared to how we learn and it was just a great experienceHave you ever study/work aboard? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
I studied in Mexico for a complete year. It was the best experience I have had in all aspects of my life. I not only learned another language and culture, but I learned a lot about myself and how to deal with situations when the arose. You need to be able to solve problems and be flexible when you study abroad. These skills that you learn will also help later on in life, because schools and employers will see that you can be put in a position of difficulty, and will most likely succeed. In addition, it also shows that you are willing to try new things.
The skills, friends, and memories that I had in my year abroad are something that I could not have gotten anywhere else, and I am so glad I took the time to study abroad. I always encourage others to do the same if they can!

Because of that experience, my husband and I have been hosting exchange students for the past 13 years!

Dunno. My parents gave rotten advice. My life didn't start getting decent until I just quit ignoring their advice and started doing what I thought was best. Things have been pretty great overall since then.

I don't think out of your question's answers, but to read questions of people in similar situations and the response to that can really give you a new or fresh perspective. It can open your mind to more than one possibility and make you look at your situation in a different light.

Do you think schools will close because of swine flu? (Christian advice that is why it is on this category)?
They are sending people home that start to COUGH! This all all being blown way out of proportion and they already cancelled my school dance. I didn't wanna go, but they still did. People are stupid and care more about public opinion then they do about the general welfare of people... cancer and other effects are much worse than swine flu... but no one cares about those things.Do you think schools will close because of swine flu? swine flU passed through nyc schools last May 2009 and some schools were closed but only a small number.
Official memo sent home in Sept stated that all nyc public schools would remain open.
Depends upon your school district policies, the numbers out sick- but these numbers will be composed of those truly ill,those playing hooky and pretending to be ill and how much fear,hysteria and hype is going to CONTINUE-

Also please note BC Canada has made allowance for mature minor consent - it is that important and is a potentially life-threatening issue - so they don't even have to ask parents. I am sure other jurisdictions are thinking on the same lines, and they are discussing on TV about how withholding innoculation from your children could become a criminal offense. I am in Oklahoma a red hot state with the flu, many social events are being canceled to prevent the spread. I work in health care and I am pretty sure I am going to catch one type or the other of flu, no matter what precautions I take, I generally catch the flu despite the annual shot.Schools will prob stay open as long as the majority is healthy.
I have read that swine flue isn't easily caught. You have to share fluids.
That the swine flue shot is meant to spread the disease...
That would only be true if the swine flue shot has a live virus in it.
So I think that it is taking a risk to take the vaccination. The Lord let me see enough about it that it this vaccination will do more harm than good.
He doesn't want me or my family to get it. It is better to eat an apple or orange every day and go to flue parties (to strengthen immune system).
So basically, I am just going to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in this.
If schools close, because of flue... Then that is their choice. But please don't give my children a vaccination without letting parents know %26amp; get parental permission first. (As was the case in the news lately.)

Above all - Pray and Trust God to keep us safe.
We don't know how bad H1N1 will get. So far it's not Armageddon but there's a possibility it could be a big deal so people are being cautious. How cautious to be is a judgment call and not everybody will agree. The best thing we can do is get vaccinated.
Closing schools does not prevent the spread of any virus, but schools are often under political pressure to close because patrons and parents feel that schools are the stew pots of illness.

My great grandmother is get old ,but still wants to live alone. I go over her house three days out of the week and sometime more, to check on her if she is ok and clean her house. We tried having a maid/ad and my grandmother did want her there. We tried everything even part-time maid/ad, and still my grandmother wouldnt let anyone but family in the house. what do you think we should do?

I'm teaching English to mentally disturbed teenagers and i wanted to work on a project with them on releasing a school newspaper... any suggestions on how to drive the project aare welcomed.Could you give me some advice on creating a school newspaper in English?
Great idea! Creativity is the limit here. Other wise follow the same rules you would for any school paper.
Define what kind of news paper it is going to be: To whom is it directed? What issues will it deal whit? What section should it have?, What are the goals or reasons that guide this project? etc.
Start small, it will make it easy for everyone to understand and get into it. Make it every two weeks, then you can move to a weekly, etc. No problem, it can grow and develop with time in every sense; length, pages, frequency, etc.
Mostly make it fun to do, and to read. Not necessary humorous, but entertaining and interesting, your aim is to involve as many people as you can; both as producers and as readers.
