That can lead to a paradoxical situation. If you take his advice, then you can't actually take his advice, because he's a stranger and you would be taking his advice. If, on the other hand, you don't take his advice, then you are actually taking his advice, which again leads to the problem that you can't do that because it's contradictory.
I like questions like this. Sorry that I can't offer an articulate answer, but they're fun to think about!
Oh, and to answer it personally, I would take his advice, which I could then apply to future encounters. I say that taking it only precludes you from acting on advice from other strangers, as you can still take advice before you actually employ it...eh? =)If a stranger tells you not to take advice from strangers would you take his adviice?
thats a hard one but i'd just take it. Only cuz its one of those logic things. If a stranger tells you not to take advice from strangers would you take his adviice?
I might or might not take advice from other strangers. It depends on the circumstances. So just because I'm not paying attention to other strangers doesn't necessarily mean I am taking (or not taking) his advice.
No. If a stranger yells at me on the street ';Yo! Look out for that bus!'; I'm sure gonna listen!
No.
Everything I tell you is a lie. I'm lying!
YES!!! This stranger is warning you not to believe anyone, including him! I'd say that's a pretty decent stranger.
Yes, after I introduced myself and then we would no longer be strangers.
I would certainly heed his advice..he may know something that I don't
If a bear takes a dump in the woods and nobody is there to smell it, does it stink? I guess the real question is do you need the advice to begin with. It would all depend on how much common sense the advice seemed to offer.
The question actually sounds like a bad pick up line, but overall, I think it falls into the same category as ';what came first, the chicken or the egg?';
Where do you get up to date fantasy advice?

What advice do you have for people to live a happy life?
Mine is never pee or poop your pants and take a bath and you will be fine. Cleanliness is essential to being happy. What advice do you have for people to live a happy life?
intersesting Philosophy. Can't say I heard that one before. Very original. Mine is just to make yourself happy and everything else will follow. What advice do you have for people to live a happy life?
Follow the laws of Karma. What goes around comes around. If you are a good person, good things will happen to you (even if it takes time and you feel like your life is sh*t at this moment)!
never take anything for granted no matter how small. Live for you, don't worry about what other people think!
HAve a hobby and get out in the sun
Not a thing. They obviously don't need advice.
Make the most out of each day, not just holidays or special events. Try to see something positive in as many things and people as reasonably possible. Try to accept what you can't change and work on whatever you can. Every day, try to get fresh air, enough rest, healthful food and some exercise or activity.
Always be yourself and do not try to be someone you are not.
Look on the positive side of life and be content with what you have and do not envy those who have more.
Look for the good in people and begin each day with a smile.
I wish you happiness:)

If you were President Bush's psychoanalyst, what advice would you give him?
Just for fun - no vitriolic politics here. Pretend you're inside his head, once a week for an hour. Our country is counting on you to help him help himself. Consider it a challenge. If you were President Bush's psychoanalyst, what advice would you give him?
Mr. Bush,
After extensive review and intense psychoanalysis, I would like to give you the results of your tests and our discussions.
Stress seems to prominant in your life, and with a country to run, it's no wonder! Media pressure, terrorists, floods and political cross fire would make anyone stressed out. I recommend more sleep and a more balanced diet, and possibly some yoga or relaxation techniques.
There also seems to be a problem with your nervous system. We have conducted several tests and determined that this problem centers in the speech centers of your brain. While your brain appears to be functioning properly, you are suffering from a severe speech impediment that seems to make you say things you don't really mean, confusing words and making up new ones which mean nothing to the general public, but make perfect sense to you. I would recommend speech therapy to correct this problem, though with all such nervous system disorders, there is no guarantee of a cure.
Also, there is a concern that due to the great stress and pressure you are under, you may in fact be displaying irrational tendencies towards meglomania and classic 'tantrum' throwing tendencies. Please do not take this as criticism; we understand you are very sensitive to such at the moment. But we do have grave concerns you are acting not out of sound rationality, but out of a need to 'prove' and 'justify' yourself to your own ego and that of the public that watches you so closely.
I recommend intense therapy and a three month stay in Iraq (with you leading the ground troops). This should cure you completely. If you were President Bush's psychoanalyst, what advice would you give him?
Please don't ever give another state of the union address !
I would like to help him sort out whatever issues he has with his father.
if i were Bush's psychoanalyst, my advice to him would be to find another job cuz he sux at this one!!! being inside his head would certainly be a challenge. First of all he would need to start here at home with helping his own ppl instead of giving money and support to other countries before his own. these United States should come long before anybody else. I dont care who it is!!! the Americans come first, then after that if there is anything left, put it where it needs to be.
ritalin, i dont know why it seems to me like he has ADHD
Listen to your handler......';sit, stay, speak, .....no don't speak.';

bush should saw his own balls off with a blunt rusty knife!
One would tell President Bush, to look for a God fearing man, woman or Catholic priest, with the ability to do an exorcism. Some times people that are not totally trusting in and relying on the Triune God and, have not really accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, will fall prey to people that have mastered the art of manipulation, just another word for witchcraft, voo doo, etc...etc... what ever people are calling it these days, the sad thing is that most people do not even realize they are under attack, or being used, then there are those that like the seemingly power the people that are manipulating them, has made them believe they both have. The only problem with them all is that one day they are going to stand before the Lord. The written word says that one is going to have to give account of every idle word they speak. One day people will be judged. Because they seem to be doing well, they think they are living in heaven on earth, because they are blinded by the false power; that will end because all evil ends here on our planet in our universe and, of course the end and beginning at the end. God is clear, God said, ';you shall reap if you faint not'; %26gt; here on our planet in our universe, That is if you are a believer, because to receive the promises of God you need faith, and believe God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him, and act on His word, which means do it; then you truly will be living in heaven on earth and be happy; believe me when I say there is also a hell on earth; some people get confused because they think that heaven and hell are for eternity only%26gt;not. Again you may be happy here or not it is a choice. False happiness is not happiness, because the people that are doing the evil have to plot and plan they do not even realize they are in turmoil, really happy people just take a day at a time trusting in and relying on and loving the Triune God, and giving everything to the Triune God; because He is the only one that is able to help, yet He does use people and there is also devine intervention by the Triune God; but the devil uses people also. Me I would rather have the help of the Triune God; which is life now and everlasting, Not the false help the devil gives which only leads to death now and everlasting. Remember faith works by love, and God is Love, one is getting excited so one shall stop by praying we all learn how to make right choices and trust and have faith in the Triune God. My pastor put it like this once: J O Y = Jesus, Others, Yourself. 1+1+1=1. Love. So let us all accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ shed His precious blood for us all. Repent, confess, believe and be saved.kiss lip gloss

If you had one piece of advice for a first time mom, what would it be?
I'm pregnant and would really appreciate the help of moms who have been there before :)If you had one piece of advice for a first time mom, what would it be?
well first off - YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT WILL KNOW YOUR BABY'S CRIES, NEEDS, WANTS, AND ANYTHING ELSE. TELL EVERYONE ELSE TO SHUT UP!!! Because your mom, sisters, friends, or anyone else that tries to tell you how to raise your baby - will tell ya how, and get in your face as if they know best. We are strong women who are born with the instinct to know what our babies needs are. It is how we bond. You will even know better than the daddy :)
Now I dont have just 1... I'll give you 10 tricks
Second - gassy??
lay baby on his/her back, take her knees and pull them up to her chest- roll out and back down... she will start to pass the gas, and her tummy will feel better. They also like the excersize. Anytime my babes cried, and I knew they weren't hungry/sleepy/dirty/soiled I laid them on their back... pushed their knees up to their chest, rolled the knees outward from the body and back down- repeating as needed untill baby was happy.
thirdly - tight tight tight swaddles. they were couped up so tightly inside of you, and they still love the same tight swaddle feeling.
forthly- formula??- soy is better on their tummy's causing less spit up, less upset stomach, less gas, less stuffy noses... also easy to switch from milk based to soy based.
Fith - Spit up?? stinky?? in public and on your clothes?? carry a small baggy with some baking soda in it. Take a baby wipe and dip it in the baggy - rub on the spit up... and wooollaaa no more stinky stinky :)
sixth - diaper rash?? A%26amp;D is the best, if you are breast feeding you baby (male or female) can get thrush it can show up as a diaper rash and diaper rash cream will not work. It means your baby has yeast, and can be treated with some cream from the docs. His/her mouth might be white... might not be.
Seventh- constipation? could be the formula- soy is best... to get the first blockage out - put a glycerin suppository in the rectim - hold it in for about 2 minutes... and soon your baby will poop. do not give juice untill 6 months old, any sooner can cause food allergies. Put a little bit of Kayro syrup in each bottle, it will relieve any further constipation.
eighth - pacifiers are good for babies that need that extra sucking - most breast fed babies need that extra sucking after nursing. It doesn't mean they are still hungry, but it takes less time to breast feed than bottle feed, so the babe still wants to suck. don't let him/her use your breast as a pacifier.
ninth - bottle feeding? bottles with a slight tilt help with gas, Dr. Bedreax bottles suck
tenth - TAKE SOME TIME FOR YOURSELF AFTER THE BABY IS BORN, RELAX, REST, AND DON'T STRESS. TAKE PLENTY OF WARM BATHS - IT WILL HELP WITH HEMRHOIDS AND HEALING. HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY PROVIDE SOME MEALS FOR YOU. SLEEP WHEN BABY SLEEPS!
GOOD LUCK!If you had one piece of advice for a first time mom, what would it be?
Don't ever doubt yourself. Thats the best advice I can give you. You will have more wisdom as a mother than you think or can ever expect. Good luck.
Take it as it comes and don't compare yourself to other Mom's! Each day gets better and better and you learn pretty quick what your baby will want and it builds on that, day by day. You'll be the best Mom you can and if you compare yourself to other Mom's you'll NEVER be the best.
I, myself, like to observe other Moms and if I feel they are a bad mother than I don't do what they do with my kids and if I think they are a good Mom I usually try to emulate what they do with their kids and come up with my own technique. Just remember that your babies need love, food, attention and discipline, ALL with consistency. If you can provide all that consistently, you'll have a healthy and happy baby.
When I had my first child I had a friend with a baby a similar age and she was always bragging about what her super baby could do and made me feel as if I was trying to play catch up.
Don't let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't do. Be it about breastfeeding, weaning or potty training. It's not a competition and it's not a race. All babys progress at their own rate and only you are the best judge of when both you and your baby feel ready to take the next step.
Enjoy every moment with your little bundle of wonderful, because the time flies by too fast. Be particularly patient during those middle-of-the-night feedings, when you are exhausted and all you want to do is sleep, because that is precious bonding time with your baby that you will miss when it's gone. Best wishes to you.
Don't really ignore what people tell you. Take time for yourself. Don't always hold your baby because then you will be stuck carrying them around when they are older, well me and all the other mothers i no that did that. Enjoy ever minute because it goes by real fast. try and get somewhat of a routine down, it will be easier for you and baby. Take time for u and hubby. Enjoy and Good luck!! :) :)
follow your gut and never forget what you felt like when you were younger! Enjoy your baby all the old crap will now become new and exciting again.... love, love, love
Ignore what other people tell you is the ';right way'; to deal with baby dillemas and do what works for you.
Breastfeeding stay-at-home mothering is the best start for your child.
Enjoy every minute of it. Don't close your eyes at all or you will miss out on all the fun! :)

What piece of advice would you say has helped you the most in life, or what piece of advice has encouraged you
to make a significant change in your life? I understand most will have many examples, although if possible narrow it to only one example. ThanksWhat piece of advice would you say has helped you the most in life, or what piece of advice has encouraged you
My mother used to say,
';What makes you think life is fair? Who has been telling my little girl that life is fair?';
Then she pretty much added that it's not and to get over it. Truly accepting that life just isn't always fair is probably the thing I am most thankful for. What piece of advice would you say has helped you the most in life, or what piece of advice has encouraged you
One of the best pieces of advice I was ever told was to get advice from someone who is where you want to be in the area you are seeking advice.
EX. If you want marriage advice, find someone who has a marriage you admire and ask them for advice, not someone who has been divorced 5 times.
Everyone has advice and think they know how to solve everyone else's problems. Good advice comes from people who have proven success in the area you need help in. People can only teach you what they know. Make sure the person you are seeking advice from is where you want to be.
If you could have the arms of Hercules,
Legs as swift as the wind,
If you could leap shoulder high above the rim,
Have the kick of a dolphin,
The reflexes of a cat...
If you could have all this, you would have the body,
You would have the tools, but you will not have greatness...
Until you understand that the strongest muscle is the heart
-Andrea Bocceli
Ok... It hasn't really helped me in life... but i still think its f***ing awesome....
About a week before he died, my best friend told me the most significant thing I've ever heard him (or anyone) say; he said ';the thought of death doesn't bother me because I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.';
For the whole 20-something years that I knew him, I thought he was an agnostic. A week after he said that to me, he died suddenly. I'll never forget it.
I was advised years ago to study the Bible. To use every aid to do so that I could obtain. Concordances, commentaries, lexicons, and to become familiar with history. To me there is nothing more eye opening.
';God doesn't answer prayers.'; Made me wake up and start doing things for myself, instead of waiting around for something to happen by divine intervention.
Simple Answer !
“I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.”
Thanks, RR
Life is suffering.
answer: knowledge is something that can't be taken away by anyone, only by disease, drugs or age. No matter how poor you are you can always find ways to keep learning.
My Mom
An older lady friend of mine would always tell me (she's deceased now May she rest in Peace) To act right and behave for it cost me nothing!!
She was right!!

';You should move out of this house and find an apartment for yourself instead';.

the advice for me was ';obey god and leave all the consequences to him';.
When I was young, my mom told me if doing it would make me cry, don't do it. It was good advice for a long time.
Dont give up on your dreams, my best friend.
My Mother told me never to vote for a woman. Best advice ever.
Dont spoil your mind for lack of courage

If you could have all this, you would have the body,
You would have the tools, but you will not have greatness...
Until you understand that the strongest muscle is the heart

Ok... It hasn't really helped me in life... but i still think its f***ing awesome....
About a week before he died, my best friend told me the most significant thing I've ever heard him (or anyone) say; he said ';the thought of death doesn't bother me because I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.';
“I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.”

the advice for me was ';obey god and leave all the consequences to him';.
When I was young, my mom told me if doing it would make me cry, don't do it. It was good advice for a long time.

My Mother told me never to vote for a woman. Best advice ever.
